To market, to market

At the heart of the Costa del Sol on Mijas Costa, near Marbella and Fuengirola, is a lovely old fishing village called La Cala. Ok so there are a few more cars and bars now, but it is still pretty and nice and bustling. My Godparents happen to live out here in their lovely villa up in the hills, and while paying them a visit we decided to pop down to their Wednesday morning market.

The market is not too big, so a few hours is enough to mooch around in the heat. They sell all sorts, from a wonderful assortment of dried and fresh fruits, olives, garlic, fresh juices... and that's just the food!

There's also a nice assortment of pretty patterned plates, ceramics, millions of bags in any colour you could want, flowers, hats and the most adorable little children's' clothes.

Afterwards we decided to go for a paddle in the sea to cool off a bit before heading back up to our second villa of the holiday (in smug voice).
