The rain was pouring, and our tummies were rumbling, so we grabbed our umbrellas and headed off for breakfast and a catch up. You may remember my post on the perfect hangover cure here, where I recreated my favourite dish from this great place, but last time I promised to show you inside when we went - so here it is!
This place is so popular, there is always a queue round the block (even in the rain), so don't leave it too long to go or you will end up eating your sleeve.
It's a really funky place inside, and there's lots of your typical Shoreditchy crowd fashion - a nod to the 50's with top knots, big glasses, red lips and big curled fringes.
Lucy wore a lovely dress from Topshop, with a vintage brown belt her Dad brought her back from Texas.
Maybe one day I will have something else from their amazingly varied menu, but my favourite called to me - who else is going to be in charge of quality control if I don't keep testing it? Ok, ok... next time I will try something different.
Lucy had the All American breakfast, which comes with big fluffy pancakes and lashings of maple syrup. It sounds a bit strange, but if it's good enough for all of you over the pond, it's good enough for us soggy Brits in wellies.
The Breakfast Club, true to their diner - inspired style, also does fantastically decadent shakes. I opted for the gut-busting peanut butter and banana flavour (sensational since you asked, and so worth the calories).
I also wanted to show you a quick peek at my new hair :) I had it cut at Angel Faces salon by a lovely man called John. We had a ciggie together and bonded over foils - I think I found my new favourite place! Not to sound as shallow as a puddle, but there is nothing better than having your hair done by a professional. Do you like?
We finished the day with a spot of shopping in Angel - spending money neither of us have! I love girlie Sundays. Sigh.
